Welsh Government delays mega-dairy verdict

Not in my Cuppa
The Welsh Assembly has said it needs more time to consider overturning proposals to build a 1000-cow mega-dairy in Welshpool.

Responding to our letter, Welsh Minister for the Environment and Sustainable Development John Griffiths wrote to Not in my Cuppa to tell us that Welsh Ministers needed more time to deliberate over the call in request.

He said: “A direction has been issued under Article 14 of the Town and Country Planning (General Development Procedure) Order 1995 to provide Welsh Ministers with more time in which to consider the call in request.

“The Direction prevents Powys County Council only from granting planning permission; it does not prevent it from continuing to process or consult on the application. Neither does it prevent it from refusing planning permission.”

Thank you to all of our Welsh supporters who have already written to their Assembly Members on this issue.

If you haven’t done so already, there’s still time to take action here >>

It’s not just cows and chickens that are being considered for factory farms – pigs and even deer may also be at risk of being intensively farmed. We must make it clear to retailers and the food industry that produce from factory farms is just not wanted. Click “like” if you agree!
